STPPS JAG Programs Win Top Honors at National JAG Conference

The Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) programs at Lakeshore High School and Salmen High School earned national recognition after outstanding performances at the 2026 JAG National Career Development Conference (NCDC), proving they are among the best JAG programs in the country.

The annual conference brings together top-performing JAG students from across the nation to compete in events focused on leadership, employability, communication, and career readiness skills.

Earlier this year, Lakeshore High launched the “JAG BAG” initiative, a project-based learning effort focused on providing waterproof bags for individuals experiencing homelessness. After earning top honors in Louisiana, the project advanced to the national stage where Lakeshore students competed against 24 of the nation’s top JAG programs. Their creativity and presentation earned them first place in the Project-Based Learning Showcase, making Lakeshore High National Champions.

Salmen High also delivered an impressive showing, earning a place among the top 10 JAG programs nationwide. In the Employability Skills competition, student Eimy Valle placed 7th out of 36 after demonstrating exceptional resume writing, cover letter development, and interview skills. In the Financial Literacy competition, Marie Millon earned 9th place out of 26 for her strong performance.

St. Tammany Parish Public Schools is proud of these students and JAG instructors for representing the district with excellence on the national stage and demonstrating the power of leadership, service, and career readiness.
