Memorandum of Understanding Agreement Update

Memorandum of Understanding Agreement Update

After continuing negotiations with the St. Tammany Federation of Teachers and School Employees, we have reached a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), pending School Board approval.

The MOU provides a significant permanent pay raise for all employees. The agreement, which must still be voted on by the School Board, includes a $2550 pay raise for certificated and $1,750 pay raise for support staff. This is the equivalent of five steps. This will be a line zero pay raise, meaning employees will remain on the pay level they are currently on and the total pay raises will be added to the salary schedule.

The MOU includes two new stipend categories. There is the addition of a Chromebook Management stipend of $550/semester for school based personnel who handle Chromebook distribution and collection. There is also a Be a Champion stipend for coaches whose teams make the playoffs and/or finish first or second in the state in a team sport.

The decision was made to do away with effectiveness stipends as they currently exist. For fiscal year 2025-2026, VAM teachers who achieve a VAM rating of 3.5 or higher will receive a $500 stipend. VAM teachers who achieve a VAM rating of 3.0 to 3.499 will receive a $250 stipend. Non-VAM teachers who achieve an overall evaluation rating of 3.5 or higher will receive a $250 stipend.

We encourage all employees to review the MOU, which will be available on our website before being voted on by the School Board. The School Board meeting date will be announced as soon as possible.
